Growing faith waits

Growing faith waits

Growing Faith, Part 2

Growing faith wonders; it sometimes asks God the question “why?” But after asking why, growing faith does another thing: Growing Faith Waits. Growing faith waits for God to answer. After asking God “why?”, Habakkuk said, “I will stand at my watch and station myself on the ramparts; I will look to see what he will say to me, and what answer I am to give to this complaint.”
(Habakkuk‬ ‭2:1‬ ‭NIV)‬‬

This where most of us struggle. After asking why we get frustrated and either turn away from Him or resign in pessimism. For many people waiting equals inactivity and a waste of time, no wonder we don’t like it. But the kind of waiting I’m talking about is anything but passive and a waste of time. It’s always active. What we are we to do as we wait for God’s answer? Blackaby wrote, “While waiting, continue doing the last thing God told you to do.”
Waiting is a time of knowing Him more intimately through searching His word, seeking to understand it and submitting to His will by obeying it. I understand this is not easy, but it’s the only way to hear God.

When Habakkuk decided to wait one of the things God said to Him was this, “The Lord is in his holy temple; let all the earth be silent before him.” (2:20‬ ‭NIV)‬‬ In other words, God is in absolute control of the situation because “Lord, are you not from everlasting? My God, my Holy One, *you will never die.” (1:12‬ ‭NIV). God is eternal. He has always been and will always be. Suffering, disease, wars, Covid-19, death, etc. will come and go, but God will remain forever. He knows our past, present and future all at the same time, and He is always with us. ‬‬When we understand WHO God is, we can be hopeful even if our WHY goes unanswered.

So “Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”
‭‭(Psalms‬ ‭27:14‬ ‭NIV‬‬)

Point to Ponder
“If you can’t see God’s hand, trust His heart.”

Stay blessed and “see” you tomorrow for the third part.
