The History of Crossroads Fellowship Nyali
Rapid Growth in One Year
The church grew rapidly from the original 18 to over 100 within a matter of months. On the first anniversary the church rented a makuti auditorium at Reef Hotel in Nyali. Attendance that day was 223 and it was decided to move the church to that location.
Tent Years
After 6 months the church moved to a house on the 4th hole of Nyali Golf Club and put up a tent. Salvation of many and the baptism of the same continued greatly. Over 4 years in the tent, many came to Christ, many were baptized and began our original discipleship pipeline of 4 basic courses that are still contained in our Follow class.
To Launching pad
In December of 2007, we moved to a 2 acre plot where we built Phase 1 of our building. While youth met in smaller tents, KOT met in the multi-purpose pavilion. Jim said on the moving in day: This place can be our final resting place (after being located in 3 other places) or it can be a launching pad!
At Age 18
The last 13 years have seen growth to an average attendance of nearly 1500 with a high attendance in 2019 of 2118. The staff now numbers 26 awesome servants of God. Disciples have been made and the church has over (number?) ministries to build up our own believers as well as to reach the lost and forgotten. CF continues to be a beacon of hope not just in Nyali, but church plants have been established in 6 other locations in the country.
